Meet the Owner of Prime Care Living!

Prime Care Living, Inc. was founded in 1996 and is owned and operated by Rhonda Dimperio, RN.

Rhonda has over 40 years of experience as a health care provider. She was Vice President of the Assisted Living Services Organization (1998-2004) and serves on various boards and committees for improving residential care.

Rhonda is committed to helping improve the quality of care available in Albuquerque. For this reason, both of Prime Care Living’s facilities serve as teaching environments for medical assistants.

More About Rhonda

Rhonda Dimperio attended the University of Oklahoma and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Central State University in Oklahoma.  Rhonda chose a career in psychiatric nursing and served as the Nurse Supervisor of the Adolescent Girls Unit at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

At Timberlawn Hospital, Rhonda was promoted to Associate Director of Nursing, a position created for her to work hospital-wide as a troubleshooter for the most difficult and challenging treatment cases, and to develop multidisciplinary treatment team functioning.  While at Timberlawn, Rhonda co-authored a paper on the treatment of adolescents and their families that was published in the Annals of Adolescent Psychiatry.  She also developed a nursing staff evaluation system that was copied by other hospitals around the country.  During her tenure at Timberlawn, the hospital was voted the 5th best psychiatric hospital in the country by a Good Housekeeping survey of the top University Chairmen of Departments of Psychiatry in the U. S.

Rhonda co-founded Prime Care Living, Inc. in 1996.  She currently functions as the Nurse Administrator for two, 10 bed residential care homes.  Rhonda was the Vice President of the Assisted Living Services Organization for 8 years, where she developed the first code of ethics for owners and operators of assisted living facilities in New Mexico.  She has also served on committees for the New Mexico Department of Health to develop regulations of residential care facilities.

Rhonda has been involved in teaching and training all of her career and has given presentations on working with the elderly for numerous organizations, including the New Mexico Psychological Association.  She was trained in old school nursing, where the patient always comes first, and this has been evident in her work with children, teenagers and seniors over the span of her career.
